Environmental sustainability is the biggest challenge facing the label industry today. Metro Label is proud to be in the forefront of the movement to develop products in a sustainable environment.

In May 2006, Metro Label's Toronto plant became the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified manufacturing facilities for labels in North America. This state-of-the-art, eco-friendly facility incorporates:

• Sustainable site planning
• Innovative wastewater technologies to use reclaimed rainwater
• Recycling systems that heat our building with the heat from our printing presses
• Processes to recycle construction materials
• Indoor environmental air quality

Since opening our LEED-certified facility, we have garnered several environmental awards. Metro Label has FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certification and is now working towards ISO 14001 certification.

We firmly believe that corporate environmental responsibility makes good business sense, and we will continue to work towards doing our part to protect the environment we all share.
